Johannesburg veterans Chaos Doctrine have long pushed the boundaries of extreme metal, continuously reimagining their sonic assault across sub-genres. But now, they are back to doing what they do best: pure and relentless industrialised thrash metal, packed in two explosive singles. These tracks also offer the first glimpse of the band’s upcoming new album, ‘Unholy Empire’. The first one to be revealed is a relentless Metallica cover “Leper Messiah” that you can hear below in a World Of Metal exclusive:
The band explains: “We’ve wanted to return to the golden era of thrash ever since our 2020 cover of South of Heaven. Leper Messiah gets the full Chaos Doctrine treatment, with a few nods for the die-hard thrash fans – but the integrity of the original track remains untouched”.
