Now in their second year, and with a slightly longer tour visiting some new towns, the Tour of the Valkyries is a variety of female fronted rock and metal bands. Its aim is to push the bands and make them famous. The reasons why this is done are mainly because Adrian Betts, from Mr. Blade Productions, likes the mixture of melodic vocals with the heavy guitar and drums. Also because the ladies should have the same opportunities as the men in this word. And because these bands are amazing. Here’s the man on his own words:
“I run Mr Blade Promotions who are promoting this four date tour, this is non-profit as any raised will be ploughed back into the tour. The first date is on Friday 31st August at The Maze, Nottingham. Featuring Symmetry of Souls, Gallows High, Pendulum Fall and Scriptures. This is a pre-tour party and to get everyone in the mood. After a few days to recover we go to Leamington Spa on Thursday 6th September at Big Cat Coma. Four more bands playing the official opening night of the tour. The Loved and Lost, MEME Detroit, Incarnadine Coven and Operation Guillotine. All the bands support and help each other so there is a lovely atmosphere. The owner is really nice and helpful too. A lot of people from Birmingham are travelling over as it is only a 1 minute walk to the train station
On Friday 7th Sept we travel to picturesque Evesham to play a free entry show at The Valkyrie Bar. The Loved and Lost play again along with rising stars Over the Influence, Lilith & the Knight and Gallows High. People are travelling from different places in the UK and stopping over in hotels so we can all party. Saturday 8th Sept is the final date of the tour and is the biggest show. 300 people are expected at The Slade Rooms to see Symmetry of Souls, Lilith and the Knight and the following two bands. Sertraline, who have just played Bloodstock. The Loved and Lost who played a tour in Sweden earlier this year and also supported Kobra and the Lotus.
We are really busy behind the scenes planning lots of surprises for everyone.”
