World Of Metal Online Festival – Aftermath (1st Edition)

Passada uma semana, chega agora a altura de fazer o balanço da primeira edição do World Of Metal Online Festival. Um projecto que marca uma nova área da WOM e o qual já tínhamos ambição de fazer algo deste género. O mesmo só pode acontecer devido à visão e trabalho árduo de três pessoas – Carlos Lichman (colaborador da WOM e também ele próprio músico, com o seu próprio projecto a solo, além de ser professor de guitarra) que esteve a cargo das entrevistas, Tiago Vargas (baixista e vocalista dos Carcinosi e dos Initiate Decay) que fez a edição do vídeo final e também da criação da imagem gráfica e dos diversos cartazes, e por fim Flávio Soares (baixista e vocalista dos Leviaethan, dono da editora True Metal Records, da PR True Metal Press And Management e do programa de YoutTube Mundo Metal) que esteve responsável pela curadoria e contacto com as bandas. O resultado final deste trabalho todo pode ser apreciado abaixo, pelo qual agradecemos de forma sentida, assim, como, claro, a todas as bandas intervenientes que são o centro de todo o nosso trabalho – abaixo poderão consultar cada uma delas. E por último também temos que agradecer ao público que compareceu e validou todo este empreendimento. MUITO OBRIGADO!

A ideia inicial da World Of Metal passou sempre por divulgarmos a música que gostamos dentro do universo da música pesada, não havendo barreiras de países. Obviamente que a divulgação da música nacional é algo que temos como importante objectivo mas também o intercâmbio de bandas de todas as partes do mundo é sem dúvida entusiasmante, a mostrar que temos muito mais a unir-nos do que a separar-nos. Podemos já adiantar que estamos já a trabalhar na próxima edição de forma a que seja ainda melhor do que a primeira. Mantenham-se atentos.

One week later, it’s time to look back at the first edition of the World Of Metal Online Festival. A project that marks a new area in WOM ‘s history and which we already had the ambition to do something in this vein. This could only happen due to the vision and hard work of three people – Carlos Lichman (WOM’s collaborator and also a musician himself, with his own solo project, besides being a guitar teacher) who was in charge of the interviews, Tiago Vargas (bass player and vocalist of Carcinosi and Initiate Decay) who edited the final video and also was in charge of creating the graphic image and several posters, and finally Flávio Soares (bass player and vocalist of Leviaethan, owner of True Metal Records, PR True Metal Press And Management and the YoutTube program Mundo Metal) who was responsible for the curatorship and contact with the bands. The final result of all this work can be appreciated below, for which we thank with all our heart, as well as, of course, all the intervening bands, who are the center of all our efforts – you can check them out below. And last but not least, to thank all of those who heeded the call and validated all this endeovour. THANK YOU!

The initial idea of World Of Metal was always to divulge the music we like within the universe of heavy music, with no country barriers. Obviously the divulgation of the national music is something that we have as an important goal but also the interchange of bands from all over the world is undoubtedly exciting, showing that we have much more to unite us than to separate us. We can already say that we’re already working on the next edition so that it will be even better than the first. Stay tuned.
