World of Metal just joined Metal United World Wide as one of its media partners. Metal United World Wide (MUWW) is a project which brings together metal bands, fans, show organisers, media and other supporters for one big event. The idea is to have metal shows all over the world on the same date identified by the same banner. Everybody can be part and shows are individually organised. The aim is to create a world wide feeling of community as well as attract attention to the performing bands, predominantly from the underground.
The idea is based on the Australian project Metal United Down Under (MUDU) which has been running since 2014. Metal-Roos have initiated and coordinated MUDU and stand also behind MUWW, together with the PR and booking agency Black-Roos Entertainment. The individual shows are organised by local promoters/show organisers.
How to organise a show
Participation is free, organisers have to follow only some simple principles and are otherwise independent in their decision of line-up, venue, entry fee, band payment, event size etc. To participate organisers just need to have a show on 15 June 2019 and name it Metal United World Wide. Generic artwork will be provided and should be used wherever possible to identify the show as part of this community event.
How else to contribute
This project is a community project, so all contributions are welcome. Metal media can become media partner which involves giving Metal United World Wide coverage and/or a shout-out in return of the logo placed this website and the flyers. PR companies can help circulating press releases and spreading the word and also become partners. There are several options to support this event. Financial contributions are definitely helpful but in-kind are also mostly appreciated.
How to be part
Around the beginning of 2019, we should have a list with the first shows happening after organisers get venues and bands booked. Have a look at this website and pick a show which is close to you or a destination you always wanted to go to for metal.
